About Sumzo
Sumzo helps learners solve maths problems and actually understand them — with answers you can trust and every step shown.
What Sumzo does
- AI Solver — type a problem, build it with the maths keyboard, or attach a photo or PDF of it. Sumzo shows the answer first, then the formula to remember and the full solution, one small step at a time.
- Calculators — 36 calculators across arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, calculus and everyday maths, each with its formula, a worked example and step-by-step working.
- Practice — questions by school level and topic, from easy to hard, with hints when you need them, worked solutions and a history of how you are doing.
- Learning Center — short lessons that explain the ideas behind the maths, with worked examples you can follow line by line.
Answers you can trust
Sumzo has its own maths engine, which works with exact numbers — fractions, square roots and all — instead of rounded guesses. Whenever it can, the engine solves your problem itself or double-checks the answer, and only then is the answer marked Verified.
Some problems need Sumzo AI to read and reason about them, such as word problems or a photo of a worksheet. Sumzo always tells you which kind of answer you are looking at, so you never mistake an unchecked answer for a checked one.
Every lesson in the Learning Center is reviewed by a person before it is published, and every worked example in it is checked by the maths engine.
Built for learning
Sumzo solves problems the way your textbook does: it starts from the standard formula, puts the numbers in, and works through the calculation without shortcuts, so the method sticks. Practice questions and lessons then help you try it on your own.
Sumzo works best as a study partner, not a way around the work. Please follow your school’s rules about when tools like Sumzo may be used — see our Terms of Use.
Your privacy
- You can use the AI Solver and every calculator without an account.
- Photos and PDFs you attach are used to answer your question. They are only kept if you are signed in with history saving on — then they stay with that saved solution until you delete it.
- Your history (saved solutions and calculations) is private to you. You can turn saving off, delete items or clear it all at any time.
- Problems sent to Sumzo AI are processed by our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce the answer.
- Messages you send us and answers you report as wrong are kept for up to 12 months, so we can reply and fix problems.
- If you have an account, you can download a copy of your data or delete your account at any time from your account settings.
Free to use
Sumzo is free. The AI Solver and calculators are open to everyone; Practice and the Learning Center need a free account so we can keep track of your progress.
Who we are
Sumzo is made by the Sumzo team. It is in active development, and we are improving it all the time — your questions, ideas and reports of anything that looks wrong genuinely shape what we build next.
